There are times when you might add a course to your GoSignMeUp system so it can show up in the course list, but you don't want anyone to register for it just yet.  In those cases, you can Add A Course like normal, except use the Course Type under Course Misc Settings to show text rather than allow a link for registration.

On the Course Add screen, the Course Type field under Course Misc Settings has three options - Show Links, Show Contact Information, and Show Custom Text

Show Links is the typical setting, where the registrant will be able to view the course information, as well as click to register.  
Show Contact Information puts the contact information associated with the course on screen instead of the register link.
Show Custom Text displays any messaging text you enter in the Custom: field.

On the public side, this Custom text then appears instead of the Add to Cart type registration link.

On the expanded description the Custom text will appear instead of the typical Add to Cart registration link.

This feature is useful if you want to enter courses in to the system before you know all of the dates and times, but want to still promote the course.  
Listing courses in the system early can promote courses early and help generate interest in them.

When you want the registration button/link back, simply Edit the Course and change the Course Type field under Course Misc Settings back to Show Links.
